In recognition of National First Responders Day, observed annually on October 28th, Assemblyman Aron Wieder and members of his team visited every law enforcement agency that serves New York’s 97th Assembly District, presenting official citations to honor their dedication and service to the community.
Representing the Assemblyman, Aron Wieder, Blaise Gillbride, and Jerusalem Esther Ramirez each visited different departments, ensuring that every police agency within the district received recognition. The visits included the Ramapo Police Department, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Spring Valley Police Department, New York State Police Haverstraw Barracks, Piermont Police Department, and Orangetown Police Department.
At the Ramapo Police Department, Ms. Ramirez presented a citation acknowledging the department’s ongoing commitment to public safety. Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht attended the visit to show his support. The department expressed appreciation, stating:
“We were honored to have Ms. Ramirez, a constituent consultant for Assemblyman Aron Wieder, visit our station and present us with a recognition citation in honor of First Responder Week. Assemblyman Wieder has always been a strong advocate for law enforcement, and his continued support means a lot to our officers, dispatchers, and all first responders.”
The Spring Valley Police Department also expressed gratitude:
“Thank you to Assemblyman Aron Wieder and Jerusalem for recognizing National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. We’re truly grateful for your ongoing support and appreciation of our officers. Your recognition reminds us how meaningful our work is and how much our community values the men and women who serve and protect every day.”
Assemblyman Wieder said he was proud to personally honor each department and the brave men and women who serve within them, adding that every police officer, dispatcher, firefighter, and EMT in Rockland County deserves recognition for their tireless efforts to keep the community safe.
