New York State Assemblyman Aron Wieder has secured $50,000 in state funding to support the operating and maintenance costs of the Village of New Square’s local bus service, known as the Village Tremp.
The grant will help strengthen the Tremp shuttle system, which provides essential transportation by driving throughout the Village of New Square. The funding aims to ensure safe, reliable, and consistent service for thousands of New Square residents, including vulnerable populations such as seniors and children, by improving access to daily necessities like shopping, medical appointments, school routes, and other community needs.
The Village Tremp operates as New Square’s dedicated shuttle network, offering convenient rides throughout the village. By supporting this initiative, the grant helps reduce traffic congestion, ease parking challenges, and promote greater mobility and independence for residents across the Village of New Square.
“Securing this $50,000 grant demonstrates our continued commitment to improving critical infrastructure and services for the residents of New Square,” said Assemblyman Aron Wieder. “This funding will strengthen the Village Tremp, ensuring safe and reliable transportation that benefits thousands of residents who depend on these essential services.”
Mayor Izzy Spitzer of New Square welcomed the funding, noting that the enhanced support for the Tremp will make daily life safer and more convenient for residents. This allocation continues Assemblyman Wieder’s ongoing advocacy for improved transportation and infrastructure projects serving the 97th Assembly District.
