New York State Assemblyman Aron Wieder (D-97th District) has delivered vital funding to support youth sports programs in his district, awarding $10,000 each to the South Orangetown Little League and the Pearl River Little League. The grants will help enhance programming and provide more opportunities for young athletes in the Orangetown community.
During recent meetings with organizers from both leagues, Assemblyman Wieder took the time to listen closely to their needs and learn about the incredible work these volunteer-run organizations are doing to benefit local youth. From skill-building and teamwork to fostering community spirit, the leagues play an essential role in the development of children in Orangetown.
“I am proud to have secured this funding for two outstanding Little League programs that do so much for our kids,” said Assemblyman Wieder. “Investing in youth sports is investing in our future, and it’s been inspiring to hear directly from the dedicated organizers about the positive impact they have every day.”
At the South Orangetown Little League field, Assemblyman Wieder met with a group of enthusiastic young players. Engaging with the children, he reiterated his commitment to the community, stating that he will continue to explore opportunities to secure additional funding for their activities in the future.
These grants underscore Assemblyman Wieder’s dedication to supporting recreational programs that keep kids active, build character, and strengthen neighborhoods across the 97th Assembly District, which includes most of Orangetown and parts of Ramapo.
