Assemblyman Aron Wieder Engages with Key Utility and Infrastructure Leaders to Address Constituent Concerns

New York State Assembly Member Aron Wieder (D-District 97), serving the Towns of Orangetown and Ramapo in Rockland County, recently held productive introductory meetings with key leaders in utilities and transportation. These engagements highlight Wieder’s focus on building strong partnerships to support his district’s residents.
In a meeting last week with the CEO of Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R), and the company’s government liaisons, Wieder expressed his gratitude for their hard work and proactive outreach to customers. The discussion addressed constituent concerns, including utility reliability and billing issues. Notably, O&R shared their policy of not shutting off any accounts on Saturdays. Assembly Member Wieder inquired about extending this practice to weekdays when religious holidays occur, preventing customers from potentially being without power for several days. O&R responded positively to the suggestion, and Wieder’s office promptly provided them with religious holiday information for the next few years to facilitate implementation.
He also met with the leadership of the New York State Thruway Authority for an introductory meeting to explore collaborative opportunities for the benefit of constituents. Wieder thanked them for their essential role in maintaining safe and efficient roadways.
These meetings demonstrate Wieder’s commitment to positive, action-oriented dialogue with stakeholders. His office remains available to assist with any district issues—constituents can reach out at 1-845-624-4601.
