New York State Assemblyman Aron Wieder personally joined members of his office team at the 25th Annual Rockland County Youth Fest, held Sunday at Rockland Community College (RCC).
Hosted by the Rockland County Youth Bureau, the popular family event drew hundreds of residents to the RCC Fieldhouse for hands-on activities, entertainment, and information tables from more than 100 local organizations and agencies.
Wieder and his staff operated a booth at the event, where the Assemblyman himself spent time listening directly to constituents — especially families and young people — who stopped by to share their comments, requests, and needs. Topics ranged from education and youth programs to local services and quality-of-life issues. The team carefully noted the feedback to help guide Wieder’s work in Albany.
In addition to manning his own booth, Wieder walked the floor and visited numerous other exhibits. He stopped at displays run by county agencies, the County Executive’s office, the Rockland County Legislature, the District Attorney’s office, and various community organizations.
“It’s great to connect with the community in such a lively setting,” Wieder said. “Hearing directly from our young people and their families reminds us why public service matters.”
The Youth Fest was held in conjunction with Rockland County Government Day, giving residents an opportunity to interact directly with elected officials and learn about available programs and resources.
Wieder, who represents the 97th Assembly District, has made constituent accessibility a top priority throughout his time in office. Events like the Youth Fest give him the chance to engage with residents face-to-face in a relaxed, community atmosphere.
