Alligator Rescued from Minisceongo Creek by Haverstraw Police

In an unusual turn of events, the Haverstraw Police Department responded to reports of an alligator spotted in the Minisceongo Creek near Bridge Street in Garnerville this morning. At approximately 11:10 a.m., officers arrived on the scene to investigate and confirm the presence of the reptile in the creek.

Police personnel managed to safely remove the alligator from the water, a task completed with the assistance of the Hudson Valley Humane Society from Pomona, who took custody of the animal. The humane society will provide care for the alligator, ensuring its well-being.

This incident has drawn attention in the community, as alligator sightings in the region are rare. Authorities are investigating how the animal found its way into the creek.
