AIRMONT: WAKE-UP CALL – Father Arrested After 4-month-old Left Alone In Hot Car For 11 Minutes

In a deeply concerning incident Friday afternoon, Ramapo Police arrested a father after a 4-month-old infant was left alone inside a parked vehicle for approximately 11 minutes in Airmont.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop the child was discovered unattended in the car as temperatures hovered around 70 degrees outside, conditions that can quickly become dangerous inside a closed vehicle. Faist EMS responded to the scene and evaluated the infant, who was found heavily sweating but, Bechasdei Hashem, otherwise okay.

Despite the relatively short timeframe, responders stress that the situation could have turned tragic within minutes, especially given the young age of the child.

The father was taken into custody at the scene and is facing charges related to child endangerment. Child Protective Services (CPS) is now involved and actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials are urging the public to take this as a serious warning: even on a mild day, the temperature inside a car can rise rapidly, creating life-threatening conditions, especially for infants.

Never leave a child alone in a vehicle, even for a minute.

  1. Even on a mild day, the temperature inside a closed car can rise fast enough to become deadly within minutes—turning a simple mistake into a life-or-death situation before anyone expects it. 🚨🚗🌡️

  2. Ok. But arrest?! This is nuts! You don’t got better to do? Go arrest the perps that need to be arrested and send this guy off with a warning!

    • Are you serious, the negligence must be stopped!! The number of babies and children dying every year due to apathetic laziness is horrifying, inexcusable and unacceptable. Arrests are nothing compared to the fate that a child may needlessly suffer.

      • You making it sound there is massive orchestrated and coordinated neglect.
The data reveals fluctuations over the last several years:
        2023: 29 deaths
        2022: 33 deaths
2018 & 2019: These years saw record highs, with 53 deaths reported annually

    • False, false, false. Excuses won’t save a child’s life and no it can’t and would never happen to anyone who is RESPONSIBLE

  3. I think the father should be locked in a hot car to impress upon him what he did. He will never endanger his children again.

  4. I recently stayed in the parking lot of Hatzlacha to watch over 2 kids left in the car by their father who went shopping for 15 min. When the father came back I told him , next time I’m calling police.

  5. I’ve noticed the Diyuraisah Ten Commandments of Not to Murder seems to be flown out the window when babies are killed in custody of yidden. Suddenly murder is not a sin and everyone backs the adult yid. But they’re very strict about Gebrocht.

  6. I have lots of say on the topic and am an extremely responsible parent that has almost done this more than once. I’m human. This isn’t a forum where people are open to hearing others so I’ll keep quiet. But I want to throw out a lifesaving idea:
. I find it best to put your left shoe (if you drive w your right foot,) in the car seat as an added protective layer because we’re all human and multitasking.

    • Yes! Put something important like your purse (if you’re female) or your shoe, as suggested, in the back with the child. I guarantee you won’t forget the child when you retrieve your article.
