A utility pole caught fire Wednesday afternoon in front of the Tallman Fire Department on Route 59, prompting a full closure of the roadway between South Airmont Road and Spook Rock Road.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene, and utility crews were dispatched to address the situation. As a result of the incident, many Airmont residents have reported power outages in the area.
