A transformer behind the Walmart on Route 59 in Airmont blew early Sunday morning, triggering a power outage that forced the store to close.
Orange & Rockland Utilities tells Monsey Scoop that crews are on scene and expect to have power restored by approximately 2:00 PM.
It remains unclear whether Walmart will reopen later today or remain closed until Monday.
