AIRMONT: Strong Winds Topple Tree on Christmas Hill Rd, Cause Road Blockage; Power Outage Reported on Smith Hill Rd

Powerful winds sweeping through Rockland County have caused significant disruptions, including a fallen tree that has completely blocked Christmas Hill Road and South Post Lane.

Chaverim of Rockland’s Nightwatch team is currently on the scene, working to clear the obstruction and restore safe passage for motorists.

In a separate incident, a power outage has been reported in the area of Smith Hill Road and Amanda Court, affecting approximately 80 customers of Orange & Rockland Utilities. The outage was caused by a tree that fell onto power lines. The Tallman Fire Department and Ramapo Police responded to the scene, and Orange & Rockland Utilities has been notified. Crews are expected to begin repairs as soon as possible.

Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and report any hazardous conditions to local authorities.
