AIRMONT: Man Rescued From Edge of Pond After Quick Action by Civilian and Faist EMS

A potentially dangerous situation ended safely Friday afternoon after a man was rescued from the edge of a pond on Pondview Drive in Airmont.

Faist EMS responded to reports of a rescue incident after the man reportedly slipped through a gate and was in danger of falling into the water.

Before emergency responders arrived, a quick-thinking civilian recognized the danger and held onto the man, preventing him from slipping further into the pond. Police officers arrived shortly afterward and assisted until EMS personnel reached the patient.

Through the combined efforts of the civilian, law enforcement, and Faist EMS crews, the man was safely secured and provided with medical care.
