AIRMONT: Lamp Sparks Mattress Fire on Regina Road, Quickly Extinguished by Homeowner Before Firefighters Arrive

A small fire broke out inside a home on Regina Road in Airmont, prompting a response from the Monsey Fire Department and Ramapo Police on Motzei Shabbos (Saturday evening).

The fire reportedly started when a lamp came into contact with a mattress, causing it to ignite. Fortunately, the homeowner noticed the fire early and was able to extinguish it before it could spread.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, the fire was already out. Firefighters conducted a full inspection of the residence to ensure there were no extensions or hidden hotspots, and confirmed the area was safe.

Thanks to the homeowner’s swift action and the prompt response of the Monsey Fire Department and Ramapo Police, the situation was quickly brought under control without injuries or significant damage.
