Accident on Palisades Parkway Near Exit 12 Southbound Claims Driver’s Life, Dog Rescued from Overturned Vehicle

Emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on the southbound side of the Palisades Parkway near the Exit 12 off-ramp late Saturday night. The incident involved an overturned car, with initial reports indicating that a dog was safely rescued from the vehicle.

The Hillcrest Fire Department worked tirelessly to extricate the driver, who had become trapped underneath the overturned car. Meanwhile, police conducted a thorough search of the area for any additional occupants who might have been ejected during the crash.

It has now been confirmed that the driver did not survive the accident. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, the individual passed away at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the crash. Chevra Kadisha services were not needed in this tragic incident.

This accident is currently under investigation. Authorities continue to remind drivers to stay cautious and alert, especially in low-visibility areas like the Palisades Parkway.
