A sense of excitement and simcha is being felt throughout the Airmont community this week as Beis Medrash Radashitz reached a major milestone with the completion of a striking new high ceiling in its main Bais Hamedrash. The newly unveiled ceiling has dramatically transformed the interior of the Shul, giving the space a brighter, more open feel and creating an uplifting atmosphere that enhances both tefillah and Torah learning.
The completion of the ceiling marks the highlight of Phase Two of a large-scale expansion project. As part of this phase, the main Bais Hamedrash has effectively doubled in size. The soaring ceiling and its unique architectural design add a sense of grandeur and spiritual elevation, leaving a strong impression on all who enter to daven.
What makes the achievement especially notable is that the construction was completed without interrupting the Shul’s daily schedule. Throughout the project, all minyanim and shiurim continued as usual. By utilizing side rooms and original sections of the building, the Shul remained fully operational, even as major construction work was underway. Despite the activity, the sound of Torah and tefillah consistently filled the halls.
This milestone builds on the success of Phase One, which was completed over the past six months and laid the foundation for the Shul’s continued growth. During that initial phase, the Heichal HaTorah—located in a separate building—was expanded to twice its original size to accommodate hundreds of daily learners. Significant upgrades were also made to the main Shul building, including a new lobby, modern bathrooms, and an expanded coffee area on the ground level.
Phase One also included the addition of an upper Ezras Nashim gallery, a new basement level to provide additional space, and an expanded Cheder Sheini to support more minyanim. Outside the building, new curbs and sidewalks were installed, along with upgraded lighting to improve safety for congregants arriving at all hours.
With the completion of Phase Two, the Beis Medrash now stands at twice its original size, reflecting the steady growth of the community since the Shul was founded thirteen years ago. Looking ahead, the community is eagerly anticipating Phase Three, the final stage of the project, which will include new tile work, custom furniture throughout the building, and the completion of the exterior façades of both structures.
Community members expressed hope that the final phase will be completed soon, allowing the building to stand in its full glory. Once finished, the expanded complex is expected to serve as a true Mikdash Me’at—a source of pride for the Airmont community and a welcoming home for Torah and tefillah for many years to come.
The project was built by the well-known Pin Builders, recognized for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
