The Ramapo Police Department had a demanding 24-hour period, responding to numerous calls for service, conducting traffic enforcement, and addressing several significant incidents across the town.
As part of their ongoing public safety efforts, officers issued citations to three motorists for suspended vehicle registrations and another three for driving with suspended licenses.
Several arrests were made during this timeframe, including two individuals taken into custody on active warrants and later released on their own recognizance. One individual was arrested for violating an Order of Protection in a domestic incident, and another was arrested for an open container violation as part of the department’s quality-of-life enforcement initiatives.
A major incident unfolded when an armed robbery occurred at the end of a residential driveway. The victim was pistol-whipped during a violent confrontation and sustained injuries while attempting to wrestle the firearm away from the suspect. The suspect fled with a large sum of cash.
Thanks to a coordinated response between Ramapo patrol officers, detectives, and the New York State Police, the suspect—a 42-year-old male from Middletown, NY—was located and arrested. He is now facing multiple felony charges, including Robbery in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 1st Degree, Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, and Menacing in the 2nd Degree.
The suspect is currently being processed at Ramapo Police Headquarters and is scheduled to be arraigned later today in Hillburn Justice Court.
