19-Year-Old Killed in Crash on Kings Gate Road in Montebello; Passenger Hospitalized

A 19-year-old male was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Kings Gate Road in the Village of Montebello. The tragic accident occurred around 1:00 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Ramapo Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found the driver ejected from the vehicle and immediately began CPR until emergency personnel took over. Both the driver and a passenger were transported to the hospital, where the driver sadly succumbed to his injuries. Chevra Kadisha services were not needed. The passenger is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial reports suggest the vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a tree. The Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit is actively investigating the cause of the accident.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending family notification.

The Tallman and Suffern Fire Departments, W.P. Faist Ambulance Corps, and Rockland Paramedic Services all assisted at the scene. Kings Gate Road has since reopened to traffic.
