14-Year-Old Caught with Ghost Gun in Ramapo; Rockland DA Leading Investigation

A 14-year-old minor was found in possession of a loaded ghost gun and ghost gun manufacturing equipment following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Ramapo, the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

The search, carried out on April 29, 2025, was the result of a five-month investigation into illegal ghost gun activity by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force. Investigators recovered a loaded 9mm ghost gun, 9mm ammunition, two 3D printers, printing filament, and several firearm components used in the assembly of untraceable firearms.

Ghost guns are unserialized, untraceable weapons often assembled from kits or parts that can be purchased or printed using 3D technology, making them difficult for law enforcement to track.

The case was handled by the RCDAO Drug Task Force with assistance from the Westchester County Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Ramapo Police Department. Due to the age of the suspect, the case has been referred to the Rockland County Probation Department.

District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II emphasized that efforts to combat ghost gun manufacturing remain a top priority, citing the public safety threat these weapons pose, especially due to their accessibility to minors and the ability to bypass background checks.

The investigation remains ongoing.
