🔥WATCH: Monsey Fire Department Releases New Video Highlighting a Year of Historic Change

The Monsey Fire Department has released a new video reflecting on 2025 as a year of bold, historic transformation, one driven by a singular mission: protecting lives.

In the video, the department emphasizes that firefighting is never routine. Every call is treated as a critical operation where seconds matter and informed decisions can mean the difference between loss and survival.

A major milestone highlighted was the launch of the Monsey Fire District’s own communications division. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during severe weather, 19 volunteer dispatchers stepped forward, donating hundreds of hours to staff the center. These local dispatchers bring intimate knowledge of every street, intersection, and more than 12,000 addresses in the district, helping cut through chaos, reduce response times, and ultimately save lives.

The department also marked another leap forward in 2025 with the creation of its aviation unit. Using drones, incident commanders can now gain immediate aerial views of emergency scenes, allowing them to assess scale, identify hazards, and direct resources more effectively. The technology provides real-time intelligence from above, enhancing both safety and efficiency on the ground.

Beyond speed and technology, the video stresses the importance of firefighter safety. One of the year’s key advancements was the establishment of a rest and comfort unit, designed to support volunteer firefighters during prolonged and intense incidents. The unit provides relief and rehabilitation on scene, helping mitigate the dangers of exhaustion and heat so firefighters can continue serving safely.

“This is what progress looks like,” the department notes, smarter systems, better tools, and stronger coordination. The video concludes by underscoring that these advancements leave Monsey better prepared and safer when emergencies strike.

Residents are reminded that in the event of a fire emergency, they should dial 845-425-9300 to reach the Monsey Fire Department.
