On Sunday morning and into the early afternoon, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson visited Rockland County alongside Congressman Mike Lawler, beginning with a fundraiser hosted in Stony Point for the Congressman’s re-election campaign.
Following the event, Speaker Johnson accompanied Rep. Lawler for a special stop at the home of the Skvere Rebbe in New Square. The meeting took place privately inside the Rebbe’s residence and was described as warm, respectful, and focused on key issues facing the Jewish community.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that Speaker Johnson and Congressman Lawler informed the Rebbe that they are currently working to arrange a private meeting for the Rebbe in Washington, D.C., with President Donald Trump, which they expect could take place in the near future.
