A serious safety concern was reported a short time ago in Spring Valley after the railroad crossing gate at North Main Street and Municipal Plaza reportedly failed to lower while a train was passing through the crossing. The incident could have ended in a serious tragedy.
The conductor is walking the train through the crossing. The lights are not flashing on the crossing protection, indicating there is no power for them or the gates. This is the reason the conductor is doing what he’s doing, protecting the public.
